What residents say

“You can make friends really easily here. Most of the friends I made [at Northwestern] are from Hobart. Everyone is really open and accepting. The faculty, fellows and masters are great. I like talking to them at fellow’s lunch. They really care about students.”

Nicole Roberto, Weinberg freshman

“Hobart wasn’t one of my first choices. I’ve always preferred a mix of guys and girls around me, but now I prefer to live with only girls, even though sometimes there is some drama. I came here not really having that high expectations, but people here were supportive and welcoming that I felt right at home. The facilities are nice. There is a large exercise room, a large treadmill, a newly finished computer room and lots of lounge spaces. I always have a place to study other than my room that I would not be able to find in a residential hall.”

Joy Kim, Weinberg freshman

“The facilities are nice and clean. Both kitchens have multiple ovens and big fridges and our patio furniture is really nice. People here are really inclusive and friendly. Everybody talks to each other and gets along instead of getting into little groups who don’t talk to anybody else. It’s easy to bond with people. It’s really chill living with all the girls. You don’t have to worry about coming out in the lounge in your pajamas.”

Angela Cureton, Weinberg freshman

“Because there's a lot of people here who are living on their own for the first time, sometimes we have problems with people not doing their dishes, so we get a big pile up in the kitchen. So we have to make rules so we don't have to shut down the dishes. But that's about the worst thing here.”

Elizabeth Cerabona, Communication sophomore

What non-residents say

“I feel Hobart has a very tight community. Also, the decorations at Hobart are really cool, the last time I went there, there was Leonardo DiCaprio everywhere for their movie appreciation week.”

Victoria Contreras, Weinberg freshman

“The kitchen is nice and modern. The furniture is cool and comfy. I like that when you are in the lounge, you can see what’s going on in the other lounge through the door, so you don’t feel you’re cut away from other people. ”

Ayo Olagbegi, Communication junior

“Not a lot of people know about Hobart, and people who know about it have a negative impression of it. They think it’s weird because it’s all girls and you don’t get to know a lot of guys, but I don’t think that’s necessarily true. It’s a great way to blend in other girls, and it’s also a great location.”

Bethany Shieh, Weinberg freshman
