If you have a passion for the arts – be it performance, design or even just a general appreciation – Jones Residential College is the place for you. A community of diverse, creative individuals, Jones is known for its welcoming atmosphere. Popular traditions include performance hour, weekly munchies and SUMO, a notorious secret known only to residents. With eight practice rooms, studios for art, music and dance production, a dark room, study den and a brand new exercise room, Jones has something for everyone. Yet the crown jewel of Jones is the Great Room – a dedicated performance space for residents and student groups. All performances in this space are free for Jones residents. Located on the southernmost tip of campus, Jones is home to mostly freshman and sophomore students and is conveniently located near many Weinberg, Medill and School of Communication buildings.
