Allison Residential Community

1820 Chicago Avenue

Allison Hall is a residential community located on the south side of campus, with easy access to downtown Evanston. It houses approximately 350 students over four floors and has a live-in professor. On campus, many people refer to Allison as “Hotel Allison” due to recent renovations that gave Allison residents spacious rooms and lounges as well as well-kept bathrooms.

What residents say

“Allison is a quiet community that was a big change from living in Elder last year. The amenities are great, especially with the laundry machines on each floor, but the nonexistent community isn't something to be overlooked.”

Helen Lee, Medill sophomore

“It’s exactly like a hotel; great facilities, but don’t expect to become best friends with the people next door. ”

Devon Kerr, Communication sophomore

“Allison is a beautiful building and a great place to find amazing friends.”

Max Kliman, Communication freshman

“Allison has nice amenities, good location relative to Evanston and basically no social interaction. It is the end of Spring Quarter, and I still don't know the name of my next-door neighbors, and I'm a pretty friendly person. ”

Katherine Tierney, SESP freshman

“Allison Hall is a great place to live if you want a quiet living environment.”

Dan Alessandro, Weinberg freshman

“Allison has amazing facilities – the rooms are big, the furniture is nice, the bathrooms are really nice. If you’re proactive about meeting people on your floor, then you’ll be able to make friends, but Allison is definitely not as sociable as Elder or Bobb.”

Madison Rinder, Weinberg sophomore
