What residents say

“I think it’s really interesting. Even though we are the humanities res college, and we have people from a lot of different majors, as well as theater majors, people from Medill and even a couple of McCormick people, so I think the community is really diverse, but we all enjoy the same type of things, so it’s really fun to have themed parties or themed events because we can all have fun and bring our own little piece to it. ”

Bethany Mueller, Weinberg sophomore

“The facilities are generally very very nice in Chapin. I’m a big fan of segregated floors. I’m not sexist or anything. I just like being able to walk down my floor in just boxers. It’s really nice. The bathrooms are always clean, the hallways are wide, the bedrooms are large.”

Gordon Burkhart, Bienen freshman

“It’s kind of isolated from other dorms on campus, which can be a bit of a pain sometimes, but convenience in regards to Evanston is a major plus. I think it’s nice to kind of have people to come back to, like a baseline social group, and I also appreciate that it’s quiet. It’s not a particularly rowdy dorm, and I definitely like having a nice place to sleep. They’re bomb. ”

Annie Warner, Weinberg freshman

“Sometimes the location can be kind of tough. It’s probably the furthest south campus dorm, so if you have classes on north campus, it can be a long walk, but other than that, there’s not much else to dislike.”

Parker Kobayashi, Weinberg freshman

“I also think that the fellows are really awesome people to work with, and I love having that sort of faculty that you can be so close with and comfortable around in a dorm. It’s really nice to have them around as a resource. The rooms are pretty nice, too.”

Beatrice Hagney, Weinberg freshman
